A much loved oak had to be removed at my office building where it provided tons of cooling shade for my office window and I struggled with what to do with now abundant sunshine. Typical boring foundation plants are not my thing. After diligently adding humus and turning the soil very well this past spring (I really started a bit late), here is my new window view. I am so pleased that even some of the perennials are blooming first year and I love sharing the changing view with other office complex tenants, bringing life to an otherwise sterile looking location.
