How to Plant Lily of the Nile
Dig your holes as deep as the thickness of the rhizome plus an additional inch. Add the rhizome with pointed end facing up and then cover without pressing too much on the soil. Plant each rhizome about 12-18 inches apart so that they have room to grow, but are close enough for support.
How to Care for Lily of the Nile
Water Lily of the Nile regularly during the growing season. If you choose to use fertilizer, use a balanced fertilizer such as 5-5-5 or 10-10-10. Lily of the Nile do not like high nitrogen levels. As blooms fade, remove spent flowers to promote new growth. Once blooming has ended, keep the leaves intact. When leaves begin yellowing, stop watering. Foliage can be removed once it has died back.
